چکیده

We study a model for anisotropic singlet pairing in A3C60, using a realistic model for the Fermi surface in a hypothesized orientationally-ordered doped crystal. Anisotropic solutions are studied by combining numerical solutions to the gap equation in the low-temperature phase with a Landau expansion near the mean field critical temperature. We focus on a class of three-dimensional nodeless d-wave solutions to the model, which exhibit a fully developed gap everywhere on the Fermi surface, but non-BCS temperature dependence of the order parameter in the condensed state, a relatively large value of the low-temperature gap, 2∆/kTc , and non-BCS structure in the quasiparticle spectrum near the gap.

Tight- binding study of electronic band structure of anisotropic honeycomb lattice

The two-dimensional structure of graphene, consisting of an isotropic hexagonal lattice of carbon atoms, shows fascinating electronic properties, such as a gapless energy band and Dirac fermion behavior of electrons at fermi surface. Anisotropy can be induced in this structure by electrochemical pressure. In this article, by using tight-binding method, we review anisotropy effects in the elect...

Observation of strong electron pairing on bands without Fermi surfaces in LiFe(1-x)CoxAs.

In conventional BCS superconductors, the quantum condensation of superconducting electron pairs is understood as a Fermi surface instability, in which the low-energy electrons are paired by attractive interactions. Whether this explanation is still valid in high-Tc superconductors such as cuprates and iron-based superconductors remains an open question. In particular, a fundamentally different ...

Space group symmetry, spin-orbit coupling and the low energy effective Hamiltonian for iron based superconductors

We construct the symmetry adapted low energy effective Hamiltonian for the electronic states in the vicinity of the Fermi level in iron based superconductors. We use Luttinger’s method of invariants, expanding about Γ and M points in the Brillouin zone corresponding to two iron unit cell, and then matching the coefficients of the expansion to the 5and 8-band models. We then use the method of in...

Enhancement of pairing interaction and magnetic fluctuations toward a band insulator in an electron-doped Li(x)ZrNCl Superconductor.

The doping dependence of specific heat and magnetic susceptibility has been investigated for Li(x)ZrNCl superconductors derived from a band insulator. As the carrier concentration is decreased, the anisotropy of superconducting gap changes from highly anisotropic to almost isotropic. It was also found that, upon reducing carrier density, the superconducting coupling strength and the magnetic su...

Anisotropic suppression of quasiparticle weight in two-dimensional electron system with partially flat Fermi surface: two-loop renormalization-group analysis

Two-loop renormalization-group analysis for a two-dimensional electron system with a partially flat Fermi surface has been carried out. We found that, irrespective of pairing mechanism, the quasiparticle weight is anisotropically suppressed due to logarithmically singular processes in the flat regions of the Fermi surface. When the energy scale decreases, the quasiparticle weight is the most st...
